Compressor design wins Japanese award
JAPAN: The optimised exhaust port structure developed by Toshiba Carrier for use
JAPAN: The optimised exhaust port structure developed by Toshiba Carrier for use in its multi-cylinder rotary piston heat pump compressors has been recognised at Japan's National Invention Awards.
The technology won the National Commendation for Invention which has been awarded since 1919 and recognises contributions to the improvement of science and technology and the development of industry in Japan.
The optimised exhaust port solves the problem of overheating, which is a problem when increasing capacity. It effectively reduces compression loss, discharge pulsation, deflection of the rotating shaft, etc, and makes it possible to increase the capacity and efficiency of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
